Join us for this one-of-a-kind workshop designed to challenge and inspire students age 13 -18 with a variety of hands-on and brain-stimulating learning experiences.
Surgical Simulation allows students to participate on small teams, with each rotating through three surgical activities: suturing, FLS boxes and ultrasound imaging. They will perform surgical procedures first-hand at MITIETM, the hands-on skills training lab used by surgeons across Houston Methodist.
Resolving a Riddle Remotely uses a problem-based learning activity led by Weill Cornell Medicine students who will engage the teens in working together to solve a patient-care challenge.
Unconventional Careers in Health Care features a panel of speakers, including Weill Cornell Medicine alumni, Houston Methodist music therapists and other fascinating professionals with surprising stories about unconventional careers in health care.
Note that students must be between ages 13 – 18 to participate in Destination Research. A signed consent form is required for students to participate. (Participation is limited to 100 students.)
